Young Adult Leadership Summit

The summit aims to recruit young adult leaders in the Asian American community who are interested in advocating for the COVID-19 Vaccine. Their goal is to generate spaces for them to have opportunities for dialogue to mentally check in on their experiences throughout the pandemic, but also to provide them various resources and potential skills to build upon their capacity to educate and inform their communities of the benefits of being vaccinated and its outcomes in this fight against COVID-19.

APPEAL had the first United in Hope Summit last month and has recruited 11 amazing young adults who are excited to share space and start this journey. With the next summit, they hope to recruit an additional 10 AA Young Adults to complete their cohort.

  品德教育的六大支柱 Original   成长视角   视角学社   2022-01-20 20:42 作者： 刘以栋 美国中学比较流行的品德教育包括六条，简称六大支柱，它们分别是诚信，尊重，责任，公平，关爱和公民意识。 我孩子高中的大门上和教学楼门上，都贴着这几条。   我现在把美国品质教育的具体含义编译在这里，期望对大家有益。 第一，诚信 （TRUSTWORTHINESS）   当别人信任我们时，他们会给我们更大的自主权，因为他们认为我们不需要监督也保证能够履行我们的义务。他们相信我们并使我们受到更多的尊重。这是令人愉快的事。与此同时，我们一定不能辜负别人的期望，避免任何可能迅速破坏我们和别人的信任关系的小谎言或自私行为。   简单地避免欺骗是不够的。诚信是六大核心道德价值观中最复杂的一条，它涉及诚实，正直，可靠和忠诚等各种品质。   诚实（Honest） 没有比诚实更基本的道德价值。我们将诚实与有荣誉的人联系在一起，我们钦佩并依赖诚实的人。但诚实是一个比许多人意识到的诚实更广泛的概念。它涉及沟通和行为。   沟通中的诚实是尽我们所知道的情况尽可能表达真相，而不是通过以可能产生误导或欺骗的方式表达真相。它有三个方面：   真实性。 真实就是我们所知的最完整的事实。意图是真实性与真实本身之间的重要区别。错误与说谎不是一回事，尽管诚实的错误仍然会损害信任，因为它们可能会表现出我们做判断的草率。   诚意。 诚意就是真诚，不包含任何欺骗行为。它排除了所有可能的欺骗行为，譬如半真半假，脱离上下文的声明，甚至旨在留下不真实或误导印象的沉默。   坦率。 在涉及合理信任的关系中，诚实以外还需要坦诚。它期待我们主动提供对方需要知道的信息。   行为的诚实就是遵守规则，没有窃取，欺骗，欺诈，诡计和其他不良行为。作弊是一种特别虚伪的不诚实形式，因为它不仅试图欺骗而且对那些不作弊的人也不公平。它包含两个方面：违反信任和不公平。   尽管所有的谎言都是不诚实的，但并非所有谎言都是不道德的。这怎么可能？没错，诚实不是一个不可侵犯的原则。偶尔，不诚实在道德上是合理的，例如当警察在秘密行动中打入黑帮内部或当一个人为了拯救生命而欺骗罪犯或恐怖分子时，这样的欺骗是可以接受的。但是不要自欺欺人：道德认可的谎言很少见，并且需要服务于非常崇高的目的，例如挽救生命 -而 不是为了达到讨好管理层而做

Pediatric organizations declare a national emergency in mental health Publish date:  October 20, 2021 By   Marcia Frellick The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and the Children’s Hospital Association have  declared a national emergency  in children’s mental health. COVID-19 has taken a serious toll, the organizations say, on top of already mounting challenges. Policy changes are urgently needed, they say. “Today’s declaration is an urgent call to policymakers at all levels of government – we must treat this mental health crisis like the emergency it is,” AAP President Lee Savio Beers, MD, said in a statement. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that between March and October 2020, emergency department visits for mental health emergencies rose by 24% for children ages 5-11 years and 31% for children ages 12-17 years. ED visits for suspected suicide attempts increased nearly 51% among girls ages 12-17
